Expansion of Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute and Baptist Hospital’s Surgery Center is a three-story addition to an existing structure. Built over 46 months, the building is a 120,387 SF addition comprised of operating rooms, intraoperative MRI & CT facilities, and 11 PACU beds. Office spaces with additional diagnostics were constructed as well. The facility provides aneurysm therapy, advanced endovascular therapies and structural heart therapy. Areas of the previous facility were renovated, and four advanced endovascular procedure suites were added. The project also increased the size of Baptist Hospital’s Surgery Center with six new operating rooms dedicated to neuroscience, cardiac and robotic surgery.
An addition to an existing facility, Meisner’s Project Team had to conduct an Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) prior to beginning work. The Meisner Project Team had to insure everyone on its work crew was properly trained, thus taking no unnecessary risks when it came to dust containment and infection control over the lifespan of the project.
